The "Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences" of the Center for Forest Studies (CEF) and attached to the Faculty of Forest and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Pinar del Río "Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca", is an electronic and serial publication of the province of Pinar del Río, in order to satisfy the need to socialize scientific information based on the achievements made by professionals in Forest Sciences, and organizes an important way to disseminate the experience of different countries and international institutions.

The objective of the "Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences" is to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the main results of science in the forestry area and to the dissemination of new knowledge among the Cuban and world scientific community. Authors can publish editorials, scientific articles, forestry sector developments and forestry education. Authors from all over the country may participate, expanding publication spaces as a new channel for the socialization of knowledge, in this sense it will cover topics of great interest and relevance in the national and international context.

The Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences has the mission of communicating the results of the investigative work of professionals and technicians in the forestry sector of Cuba and other regions of the world, sharing experiences that contribute to sustainable forestry development.

The Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences has the vision of being the point of reference for research in the area of forestry and related sciences and of achieving visibility and informative coverage in forestry activity, and its main advances.

The Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences will be published every four months in the periods January-April, May-August and September-December. From volume 8 on, the articles that have completed the editing process will be viewed from the first month of the period. Its publication language is Spanish, and the title and summary of each article are presented in English. Since volume 7, the articles are also published in English from the Spanish translation. This magazine does not charge any type of fee or charge for publication. It also assumes the International Creative Commons 4.0 License.

The journal is in favor of Open Science and therefore welcomes manuscripts from preprints repositories or that promote the placement of research data in dataservers among other manifestations.

El Centro de Estudios Forestales (CEF) perteneciente a la Facultad de Ciencias Forestales y Agropecuarias en la Universidad de Pinar del Río “Hermanos Saiz Montes de Oca”, convoca a participar en XII Simposio Internacional sobre Manejo Sostenible de los Recursos Forestales (SIMFOR 2023). Pueden asistir profesores, estudiantes, investigadores, directivos y en general todos los interesados en las temáticas en convocatoria. El evento se desarrollará del 21 al 23 de junio de 2023 en las instalaciones de la Universidad.
